TRIP TO THE CANAIMA´S LAGOON AND HACHA´S WATERFALL 

 

In curiara (indigenous canoe) and walking (Duration: 2 hours and ½)

Departures: 8.30 a.m. and 02:30 p.m.

The departure is from the camping, we go in a vehicle throughout a wooded dirty road until the lagoon of Canaima, will not be able to believe the view of the impressive waterfalls with the tepuyes (very big flat mountains) the bottom, you’ll feel you are in some place of a Jurassic park and wont be far from being certain because the Canaima´s National Park is one of the oldest places Earth. You´ll embark in a in curiara (indigenous Boat) ) to sail next to the impressive waterfalls Hacha (axe), Golondrina, Guadaima and Ucaima (indigenous names) with a very, very beautiful view of the tepuyes (very big flat mountains of more than 1.500 millions years old) at the bottom, until arrive to the other side of the lagoon where you will disembark in  port Hacha and  undertake a long walk of  20 minutes until arrive to the entrance of the Hacha´s waterfall and walk behind its impressive water curtain, is an unique experience, after you will continue until the Sapito waterfall to enjoy this  wonderful natural landscape, Later on we undertake our return the lagoon, soon we embarked again to return to the camping or to enjoy a delicious bath in the fresh water of the lagoon (see the pictures). Necessary: Suit of bath, Short, t-shirts, sport shoes, sun protector cream, insect repellent and camera.
